Click Tracking

Every link is rewritten to a signed redirect. When a recipient clicks, PostFrame forwards them instantly, then records the URL, IP and user agent, moves the email to clicked, and fires email.clicked to your webhooks.

Questions

Common questions, straight answers.

Can someone forge a click?

The redirect token is signed and verified before anything is recorded; an invalid token is sent to a safe fallback page and no event is written.

Does tracking slow down the click?

No. PostFrame issues the redirect first and records the event afterwards, so the recipient reaches the destination immediately.

What is stored for each click?

The destination URL, the IP address and the user agent, with a timestamp — and the email's status moves to clicked. The same fields go out on the email.clicked webhook.
